Kung Fu Dunk: Combination of Kung Fu skill and Basketball technique
Kung Fu Dunk is a live-action film that was directed by Taiwanese director Chu Yin-Ping and filmed in Taiwan and mainland China. The film is inspired by the Slam Dunk manga and anime series, and was previously titled Slam Dunk. The film revolves around an orphaned boy who grew up in a kung fu university and becomes a talented basketball player.
The film stars Jay Chou, Charlene Choi, Wilson Chen, and Eric Tsang. In the initial planning for filming, director Chu Yin-Ping wanted NBA player Yao Ming to make a cameo appearance in the film. However, he is unlikely to do so due to injuries.
Most of the filming was completed in Shanghai, evidenced by the Shanghai skyline at night, as well the numerous scenes filmed at the interior and exterior of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum in Pudong.
