American Magazine "Fast Company": Jay Chou (周杰倫) is One of The 100 Most Creative People in Business of The World

Taiwanese pop-idol Jay Chou (周杰倫) is selected as one of the 100 most creative people in business by American magazine “Fast Company”, ranking No 70 since his extensive success with his comprehensive performances in entertainment industry.

In its newest issue, the “Fast Company” credited Jay Chou, the cofounder of JVR Music, of achieving a great success in expressing his endowments of being a singer-songwriter, actor and movie director and restaurant owner.

“When a behind-the-scenes guy who composed songs for other musicians and existed on instant ramen, Jay Chou has doubled up his wild success as a singer-songwriter -- he reportedly made $17.5 million last year -- into other ventures,” the magazine states.

Jay Chou’s debut as a movie director, the 2007 film “Secret 《不能说的秘密》”, was an instant hit. Once the film was brought out, he opened his second Mr. J restaurant in Taiwan, with servers wearing costumes from the film.

Last year, the 31-year-old established a dessert shop made full on Chou memorabilia; directed his first TV series; and made his first foray into Holly-wood, acting as Kato in Michel Gondry's Green Hornet, set to bring out in December, it continued.

“Cool!” said Chou after reading the news. He said he's been concentrating on holding a concerts tour latterly. “It will be even cooler whenever I can make the tour a huge success,” he added.

Jay Chou is well-known for writing all his own songs and songs for other singers with his brilliance combination of Chinese and Western music styles to make songs that blend R&B, rock and pop genres, covering issues such as national ferocity, warfare, and urbanization.

The No. 1 winner of the most creative people in business is iconic pop star Lady Gaga. Other winners include Avatar director James Cameron (No.9) and cook show chef Jamie Oliver (37).

Fast Company is a full-color business magazine that publishes ten issues each year and studies on subjects including invention, digital media, technology, change management, leadership, design, and social responsibility.
